Workshop on “Health and Hygiene “at Tarakeshwar Degree College on 30th April’2019
Tarakeshwar Degree College organised a one day workshop on “Health and Hygiene” on 30th April 2019 at their college premises. Speakers from S. B. Devi Charity Home were welcomed by the Principal of the college. Prof. Chandramallika Biswas organised the entire program and addressed the gathering. Everyone was given a token of appreciation by the students and the programme started by lightening the candles. Principal Sir gave an introductory speech followed by our General Secretary’s, on activities of SBDCH.
Since, it is a co-educational college; two separate rooms were kept for boys and girls. In the boy’s room our General Secretary, Shri. Sekhar Chattopadhyay spoke on how to manage our society, locality and change in lifestyle. Since this phase is a crucial one among boys who are about to step into a new world with their job prospectus and personal being. Dr. Bikas Basu spoke on healthy lifestyle practises and awareness on HIV/AIDS among youth using power-point presentation.
Meanwhile, in the girl’s room, Sanjana Mullick gave a quick view on the various widespread aims and activities of SBDCH. Dr. Gitali Roy Mitra spoke on menstruation, its cycle and how care should be taken by women on those days, how one’s lifestyle is affected by it. HIV/AIDS awareness was another topic on which she spoke using power-point presentation. Moumi Chakraborty spoke on stress, different forms of it, how it affects one’s lifestyle and how to resist stress.
After this brief discussion, a questionnaire was prepared by Prof. Chandramallika Biswas on the topics discussed, one on each room. Based on it the students will be provided certificates. An interactive session was kept where the students were free to ask anything to the speakers related to the day’s topic. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Biswas as she thanked her college, her students and out team S. B. Devi Charity Home.
